When you get back from Italy, everyone asks, especially a food enthusiast, "What was your favorite thing you ate?" My answer, the puntarelle. It was so different. Like nothing I've had at home. I was calling it the bitter Caesar. The dressing was like a Caesar dressing but saltier. There wasn't the egg yolk to sooth it, and the puntarelle itself bitter.
